What I collect, and what I do with it.
Last updated November 2, 2026.
EchoForge Design is run by Charles Tao in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. This page says what I collect, why, and what you can ask me to do with it. If anything here is unclear, email hi@echoforgedesign.com.
When you visit this site
This site, and the sample restaurant on it, have no forms, ads, analytics or trackers, and they set no cookies of their own.
They are served by Cloudflare. To deliver the pages and keep out attacks, Cloudflare receives your IP address and what every browser sends with a request, such as the page you asked for and when. If it needs to check that you are a person, it may set a short-lived security cookie. Cloudflare handles this under its own privacy policy.
The sample’s directions link opens Google Maps, which has its own privacy policy.
When you email me
I keep your emails and what is in them: your name, your business, how to reach you, and any menus, photos or text you send. I use them to answer you and to build and look after your site, and for nothing else. I don’t sell them, share them, or add you to a mailing list.
When you are a client
- What you send me for your site is published on it, because that is what a website is for. If something is only for me, say so, and it stays off the site.
- Payments go through Stripe, which keeps your card details under its own privacy policy. I see your name, your email and what you paid, not your card number.
- Your domain is bought through Cloudflare with you as its registrant, so your name and contact details go to Cloudflare and to the registry for your domain, as the rules for domains require.
How long I keep it
Invoices are kept for six years, as Canadian tax law requires. Everything else I keep while we work together, and delete within a year after you stop, or sooner if you ask.
What you can ask
Canada’s privacy law for businesses (PIPEDA) lets you ask what I hold about you, have it corrected, and ask me to delete what I don’t have to keep. Email me and I will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with my answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
If this page changes
The date at the top changes too, and clients hear about any change that matters by email.
